Why I built Hackboard

The keyboard is such an iconic part of our lives, but most people never really think about how they use it. I didn't either, until I became software engineer, and realised that we waste so much time with inefficient keyboard setups.

After discovering Karabiner-Elements in 2023, I started building my own custom setup that involves using keys to open "layers" of other actions. It's a different technique for working with your computer, and like any craft, it rewards practice. Once learned, the technique saves you time and energy that you will instead be able to channel into things you actually want to do.

That's how Hackboard came about.
